Come and join us for our Reception Class and Nursery Open Evening on Wednesday 6th November at 6pm. Look forward to seeing you! |
It’s lovely to welcome you to the St John’s website!
St John’s school has been at the heart of the community since 1844 and, although it’s changed over the years, we pride ourselves on continuing to build a legacy that we can leave for future St Johnners.
Our mission statement - Love of God, Love of Neighbour, Love of Oneself is at the centre of all we do. This poses many challenges for our children, staff, families and friends but we embrace the opportunity of putting this into action. This means we strive to achieve our best in everything we do; whether that is in our work, play, friendships or worship. The school’s embedded partnership with church supports both children and adults in developing their understanding of key Christian values as we strive to become tolerant and respectful citizens.
I hope your tour around our website gives you an insight into what life is like at St John’s but if you’d like to see even more please don’t hesitate to get in touch and visit us.

We are very proud of our links with our community. Church of England schools are established primarily for the communities they are located in. St John's is an inclusive school and serve equally those who are of Christian faith, those of other faiths and those with no faith.
At St John's we have been serving our community since 1844, which is 25 years before the state took responsibility for education.
We have excellent relationships with the other Dukinfield schools and often work alongside them in partnership to achieve the best for our Dukinfield families.
A termly highlight is when we welcome some of the older members of our community into our school for a Tea Party. It gives us a chance to showcase some of our talents but more importantly an opportunity for the children to see that you're never too old to entertain. We particularly love the Pantomines!
Welcome to St John's!
You will find us on Westmorland Avenue, just off Lodge Lane. If you are visiting our school by car, please park at the top of the avenue away from the school entrance as the safety of our children is paramount.
Drive slowly at all times on Westmorland Avenue as this is the main route for our families walking to and from school.
Please be considerate to our neighbours when parking and respect the parking regulations outside school.
If you arrive between 9.05am and 3.00pm you will need to use the intercom on the pedestrian gate at the front of school, as all gates are locked during these times. Please then follow the footpath to the school office and register your arrival.
There are two designated disabled parking bays in the car park and wheelchair access from the car park and both school entrances to the main school entrance.
We look forward to meeting you and hope you enjoy your visit to St John's.
